Colorado Photographers | a little about amy

It’s always hard to describe oneself. Of course there are so many facets to Amy Caroline, but I find myself staring at a blank screen, wondering, “Who is Amy?” I will do my best to illustrate myself, as best as a virtual world can. But I hope to have the opportunity to meet you one day and chat in person and have a real tangible chance for you to get to know me.

Some of these things you will have read about in the previous post, but I will reiterate them as they really do make me who I am.

The biggest thing about me that you need to know is that I care. I care so deeply, sometimes too deeply and too much, if this is possible. What does this mean? Well firstly, I am highly detail orientated, this is sometimes described as OCD, but I believe it’s just staying neat and tidy. This of course translates to my home, my organization, and my administrative gifts. But, it goes deeper, into everything I come into contact with. I care deeply about people and love extremely. I long for everyone to be happy; while I cannot possibly please everyone, I certainly do try. When it comes to photography, I care about everything, from that little piece of hair flying in the wind, to the happiness of you within the session, and of your love for how your photos turn out. I do everything I can to make the entire process perfect, photographs are not just shooting and editing images, they are emotions, moments and memories to keep for a life-time.

To me that is the most important thing you should know about me, but of course I will add in some other fun things so you can catch a glimpse of me.

I LOVE my family; there is nothing more important to me than my relationships with them. I have an incredible husband Adam, who has loved me through everything. I have a family that I adore so deeply and I am so very thankful to have them in my life.

Here are some little things that are very me:

-       I grew up in Zimbabwe (Southern Africa) for most of my life, so if you spend a little time with me you will hear a slight accent now and then.

-       I am a Jesus lover, He guides me in everything and I strive to live my life to glorify Him.

-       As I said above, I love things organized, I am most certainly a neat freak.

-       I have been to school for numerous things, fine art, psychology and finally a degree in print communication. I also started Grad-school in counseling, but could never get the love of photography out of my bones. So here I am pursuing photography full-time.

-       I must have a cup of hot tea with milk every morning, not so much to wake up, but more because of the comfort of tradition, and the warmth of the cup soothe my soul everyday.

-       Some little things I love are: chocolate, boots and flats, warm comfort food on a cold day. When it’s cloudy and rainy I consider that the perfect day. I love a good classic romance novel. I love anything and everything Jane Austen, which also means I’m in love with Downton Abbey. Baking is so much fun for me, I just have to find people to eat everything I make. I am a people person, being surrounded by those I love makes me so very happy. I love pearls more than diamonds, painting my nails, and my favorite color is yellow.

So that’s just a little glimpse of me. Of course no amount of words on a screen will ever describe a person in full, but I hope you got to know me a little better through this. I hope to get the chance to meet you one day and chat over a warm cup of tea and a freshly baked muffin.

Here are a few pictures of me and my hubby.

Best Amy

Corrie Kraft Photography | Exciting News

Corrie Kraft Photography is welcoming an Associate Photographer!

We are excited to announce the amazing and talented Amy Cronk to the CKP team!

Corrie Kraft Photography is gaining the great privilege of joining together with Amy Caroline Photography! Anyone that has had the wonderful opportunity to merely meet Amy, shoot with Amy, and be one of Amy’s clients or the incredible opportunity to KNOW Amy and call her a friend … knows what a HUGE blessing this is! Her heart, her gift and talent of photography and her passion for people are only scraping the surface of the wonderful things about her! I could go on and on! When I say CKP welcome’s Amy with open arms… that is an understatement!

After the best year yet at CKP in 2012, we are excited to be expanding and adding Amy to the team as an associate photographer! Amy will be shooting portrait sessions, including: Families, Kids, Newborns, Maternity and Couples. She will also be lead shooting weddings as well as 2nd shooting weddings with me! Amy will also be picking up some of the administrative duties as well as client relation type stuff! I know once you get to know her, you will love her as much as I do!

Meet Amy!

Here is a little note to you from Amy as well as some of her beautiful work…

Dear readers, fans, and lovers of all things Corrie Kraft Photography…

For the last two years I have watched—more like stalked—everything Corrie has done. I have admired every shoot, wanted to squeeze every baby, ooh’d and ahh’d at every couple, and felt like I was at every wedding with her through her photography. Her work is timeless, each photo session is done with such care and grace, and it shows. Her style is something I look up to, and strive to be like.

I used to sit at my computer and dream, of the day I would get to work with Corrie. She doesn’t quite believe me, but she truly was (and is) the photographer I wanted to be like. Not only do I love her shooting style, but also I love her. When you meet Corrie you are drawn in to her sweetness. Her love for her clients is so huge it amazes me, she is not just a photographer, she loves what she does and the people she works with.

I will never forget the first opportunity I had to work with Corrie. She needed a second photographer for a wedding last May. I sheepishly wrote to her, crossing my fingers and hoping she would respond, and she did. I couldn’t quite believe it, for months I had simply dreamt of the idea of working with Corrie, and it was going to happen. Over the summer of 2012 I shot numerous weddings with her and my love for Corrie and her work only grew. I learnt so very much from her, and loved working with her more and more each time.

It is no easy task to find a photographer that you can work well with. Photography is such an art form so many people do things so differently. But that wasn’t the case with Corrie and I. We are so similar in the way we shoot, but also the things we find important to capture. Working with her was and is a breeze; it is as if we have been working together for years.

Now we come to this, a step that could not have even be possible in my dreams. Corrie has asked me to join CKP and become an associate photographer. This journey is one that I could never have thought up, and as I look into the future I truly see that the Lord is leading us both in this decision. It really has not just come about from us, but from His leading and guiding.

I know for you as her readers, her friends, her clients and her fans this may be a strange occurrence. You love all things Corrie, and I am of course not her. But as we work together I hope you see that we value the same things. First and foremost you are the most important thing, without you there would be no photography, your happiness and love of memories captured will always be what drives us to photograph.

Secondly I adore photography, it is in my bones and my soul, and I will always have to photograph. Corrie and I are the same in this, photography is not just a job it’s a passion. To save memories for all time is priceless to me. Each photo session is a work of art and I treat it that way, I hope as you see my work that will show.

Finally… I think that Corrie and I make a great team. We have so much in common, and I am so excited to work with her and make your experience with CPK even more amazing. Thank you for taking the time to read this little novel, I can’t wait to get to know you all more.

Best,
Amy

Costa Rica Wedding Photographer | Jessica & Brannon Engagement

As I sit here in the beautiful country of Costa Rica, sand in my toes, and a tan on my skin… I am taking it the amazing opportunity that Jessica and Brannon have given me! Not only to expand my business into destination weddings, or to have a week in this amazing place with the best assistant ever (my hubby), but to also experience my love for photography in new and incredible ways! The feel, the colors, the light… it takes me to a renewed place of LOVING my “job”! Telling a story, the story of this beach-bum, surf town with an amazing culture filled with some of the nicest people I have ever encountered. This story might start with these simple thoughts… but it only gets better from there! Jessica and Brannon. They are the real story. The story of two people utterly in love. The place, the moment where they begin their lives together as one. This is just the beginning of that story.

We had the opportunity to spend some time with these two adorable love birds before the big day! I loved it! We grabbed about an hour before sunset and captured some of this amazing country! Jessica and Brannon… here is just a little peek of our pre-wedding session! I hope you love them! I am so excited to capture your BIG day tomorrow! Happy wedding eve! : )
